As pressure to tackle climate change grows, so has the idea that hydrogen will play a central role in a cleaner global energy system. We’re constantly told that our planet is in crisis; that to save it, we must upend our lives. But maybe that really is not the case, we just need a new kind of fuel: hydrogen. From transportation and infrastructure to heating and electricity, hydrogen could eliminate fossil fuels, boost economic growth, and encourage global action on climate change. It could also solve the most bedeviling aspects of today’s renewable energy—from transporting and storing wind and solar energy and their vulnerability to weather changes to the inefficiency and limited utility of heavy, short-lasting batteries.  The Hydrogen Revolution isn’t just a manifesto for a powerful new technology. It’s a hopeful reminder that despite the gloomy headlines about the fate of our planet, there’s still an opportunity to turn things around.

How can Web3 be utilized for impact in emerging markets?

After being coined almost a decade ago, the term Web3 and the underlying promise of a decentralized Internet finally gained interest in the broad technology ecosystem in 2021. Whether it was pandemic-fueled boredom or a long simmering digital revolution, everyone form large tech companies and venture capitalists to startup founders and cryptocurrency enthusiasts were talking about Web3. In emerging markets like Southeast Asia, the Play2Earn tsunami finally pushed the term to mainstream consciousness with everyone talking about scholars and the impact created for large underpaid populations. Just as fast as it arrived, the Web3 wave subsided with the advent of the crypto winter in 2022 and the rapid devaluation of many digital currencies including those facilitating P2E. Decarbonized Investments in Europe and Asia

A new wave of technology companies and a new wave of investors have emerged with a drive and commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Europe has been leading the way since the Paris Agreement in implementing changes that help limit global warming to below 1.5 degrees Celsius, mainly through governance initiatives and policies that the world started to follow. Asian countries on the other hand only started to announce net zero plans and related commitments in 2020, but the buzz in ecosystems, policy circles and the activity of the corporate and finance world have been picking up. As Asia contributes to more than 50% of the world's CO2 emissions this is important. It is well understood that technology is essential to achieve decarbonization targets, regardless of the region.
