Smart Change Jakarta
The Smart Change project aims to promote good governance and sustainable urban development in Jakarta in accordance with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals through the city partnership between Jakarta-Berlin and in triangular cooperation with Bangkok.There are two pillars of the project focusing on promoting local economic growth in the city of Jakarta with an entrepreneurial ecosystem that enables growth and development of start-ups and generates jobs. The first pillar focuses on good governance, while the latter is for entrepreneurship and innovation.
This project is jointly implemented by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises (SenWEB) and the Jakarta Provincial Government, with support from the City of Bangkok as associate partner. The cooperation of the local authorities is intended to foster knowledge transfer and capacity building of Jakarta Provincial Government and further local policy makers and stakeholders.For implementation of the entrepreneurship and innovation pillar, the SenWEB partners with enpact in executing several strategic activities to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jakarta. The activities include but are not limited to the installation of a platform for entrepreneurship and innovation for start-ups, founders and innovators to exchange and collaborate, along with tailor-made accelerator programs.
