PROSPERITY: Open Borders - Cross-Border Data compliance with Decentralisation

Every country has its own set of regulations for crossing borders, effectively creating barriers for people and goods. Crossing more than one border can become a daunting task. Decentralization can help reduce, even remove, these barriers. We will discuss how decentralized technologies can be leveraged to open these borders, drastically reducing friction for travel and trade. We will showcase that decentralizing existing and novel business models is by no means a magical task, but well within reach for everyone.

PLANET: Climate Change - The Hydrogen Revolution and the global energy system

As pressure to tackle climate change grows, so has the idea that hydrogen will play a central role in a cleaner global energy system. We’re constantly told that our planet is in crisis; that to save it, we must upend our lives. But maybe that really is not the case, we just need a new kind of fuel: hydrogen. From transportation and infrastructure to heating and electricity, hydrogen could eliminate fossil fuels, boost economic growth, and encourage global action on climate change. It could also solve the most bedeviling aspects of today’s renewable energy—from transporting and storing wind and solar energy and their vulnerability to weather changes to the inefficiency and limited utility of heavy, short-lasting batteries.  The Hydrogen Revolution isn’t just a manifesto for a powerful new technology. It’s a hopeful reminder that despite the gloomy headlines about the fate of our planet, there’s still an opportunity to turn things around.

How can Web3 be utilized for impact in emerging markets?

After being coined almost a decade ago, the term Web3 and the underlying promise of a decentralized Internet finally gained interest in the broad technology ecosystem in 2021. Whether it was pandemic-fueled boredom or a long simmering digital revolution, everyone form large tech companies and venture capitalists to startup founders and cryptocurrency enthusiasts were talking about Web3. In emerging markets like Southeast Asia, the Play2Earn tsunami finally pushed the term to mainstream consciousness with everyone talking about scholars and the impact created for large underpaid populations. Just as fast as it arrived, the Web3 wave subsided with the advent of the crypto winter in 2022 and the rapid devaluation of many digital currencies including those facilitating P2E. Having passed the peak of inflated expectations, the true believers can finally start building the Web3 infrastructure in peace and gradually bring its promise to fruition. Our panel will discuss some of the most impactful Web3 projects and technology use cases both in Europe and Asia.

PEOPLE: Building the future with Music & Healthcare – the Indonesian way

The Metaverse has been a hot topic in the digital space as many industries are beginning to understand its potential and challenges. In this panel we will discuss with early adopters from Indonesia, representing the music and healthcare industry. They will share their perspective of the Indonesian way of building the future with Metaverse.

Claudia Siregar is leading this panel. As a German-Indonesian entrepreneur, who started her first company in Singapore over a decade ago, she says: “with soon 300 million inhabitants and an internet penetration rate at 73.7%, the democratic and multi-ethnic country, with the largest Muslim population globally, is still too often overseen, especially in Europe and Germany, as one of Asia´s digital giants.”

With Indonesia´s - gotong royong - way, which is deeply culturally rooted and far more than collaboration or working together, we hope our panel contributes to how to look at Creative and Digital Indonesia, and its global role, from now onwards.

Discover how music and NFTs are being used to send out a message to a global audience through Indonesia’s iconic all-ladies hijab-wearing heavy metal band: Voice of Baceprot (VOB).

Claudia will be sharing more about the band’s first NFT drop, and how their latest song, [NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY, has initiated a global movement and is now a joint mission between her and the band to raise the bar for women globally against violence.

Joining her on this session will be the key individuals, Bryan Blanc and Farrel Darian, from Netra, Asia’s first royalty-sharing NFT platform. Climate Change - a hopeful story

Climate and Hope. Two words not very prominently showing up together on stage these days. For a good reason.
We are standing in front of THE biggest challenges of our times, caused by climate change. The awareness of the pressure to act has increased significantly, and now we need to think about how do we actually get the best ideas for solutions. How good can they be when we are caught in pessimism, fear or anger about the crisis? How visionary can you be when you are told that you will never live on that level of prosperity again as you used to do, that this was the best it could get? The human ingenuity it needs to find solutions to these fundamental challenges, is blocked. In order to be unlocked, it needs optimism, and bravery. Because ultimately, the tools it needs already exist.

Join Daniela on a 3-min thought-provoking journey of inspiration to ask ourselves the questions that really matter: What if the things we fear to lose actually make space for better things to come?
