We partner with exhibitors, artists, Asian embassies et al who curate relevant programs for our community in Berlin. These events resonate with our mission of building bridges between Europe and Asia, not just in the startup ecosystem but also with merging cultures and art of the two vibrant ecosystems. This year, we have a mix of online and offline events to complement the hybrid format of AsiaBerlin Summit 2020. (23 September)

In China, the use of social media in the context of e-commerce is gaining traction. China’s social commerce industry is predicted to be worth[masked] billion USD by 2023, and a large chunk of this growth is expected to come from the fashion and luxury goods market. In this episode of Path2China Webinar Series and as a satellite event of the Asia Berlin Summit, we will focus on one of the key players of social shopping platforms in China: Xiaohongshu, also known as “RED”. On this mobile app, users can record their daily life and share their lifestyles through short videos and posts. Xiaohongshu has become China’s leading social e-commerce platform.

Based in Shanghai, Xiaohongshu has gained over 100 million monthly active users as of October 2019. Over 40,000 brands from 190 countries and regions can be found on the platform. No foreign brands looking to conquer the Chinese market can get past it anymore. Therefor, we are very honored to have a top-level speaker of Xiaohongshu joining us from Shanghai. Linda Zeng, RED Partner and Head of PR will be tuning in to provide first-hand information on one of the most interesting e-commerce players in China. But she will also talk about her personal story, her career and how daily business at a fast-paced startup in China looks like. This event will again take place in cooperation with Huawei.

What is the story of our speaker Linda Zeng? Why did she leave Tencent and join Xiaohongshu? How is daily business at Xiaohongshu? What is Xiaohongshu? What is the secret of Xiaohongshu’s success story and what makes it so special?  How will the future of e-commerce and shopping look like in China and the world? What will be the role of players such as Xiaohongshu?  What are the key win-win scenarios between Xiahongshu and foreign companies? What opportunities are there for foreign brands, merchants etc.?

About Linda: Linda worked for World’s biggest bank HSBC, China’s famous internet company Tencent, and now is the partner in a super fast-growing and the biggest social commerce company RED (Xiaohongshu), who has finished its Round C by GGV, Zhenfund. Register here.
