September 23, 2021
Hailing from a family of tech industrialists and medical thought leaders, Björn possesses a native drive and understanding for applying technologies to solve challenges in healthcare. Björn completed his B.Sc. at European Business School in Oestrich Winkel before joining the London School of Economics (LSE) for his M.Sc. He conducted several years of postgraduate research at Harvard University and the University of St. Gallen. In 2013, he co-founded caresyntax, a MedTech company based in Berlin. Over the past few years, caresyntax has become the leading developer of surgical intelligence technologies. Today their technologies are used in more than 8,000 operating rooms worldwide, and support surgical teams in over 13 million procedures per year. Recently, caresyntax announced the free roll-out of its software to enable hospitals to better manage critical care capacities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We want to deepen our focus on the Berlin and Asia startup ecosystems and hence we are initiating community partnerships with ecosystem players in both regions. The idea is to support each other for cross-promotion on various communication channels and generally establish a relationship for long term collaboration so our existing AsiaBerlin community can be of help to our community partners in Asia as well.
