At ADB’s Digital Technology for Development Unit, Arndt facilitates the effective use of digital technology in ADB programs, focusing on digital transformation in the public sector, cross-sectoral partnerships and tech startup ecosystems. He is a member of ADB’s Innovation Task Force and support’s futures thinking and foresight activities. Arndt has over 16 years of professional experience in the development sector, with a focus on governance, urban development and public sector reform. He moved to the Asia-Pacific region 12 years ago to work with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) at national level (India), regional level (Bangkok, Thailand) and later global level (Singapore). Earlier stints include Africa, Europe and the Americas. Prior to ADB, he was a Senior Advisor and Deputy Director of the UNDP Global Policy Centre in Singapore. A national of Germany, he holds a Master of Engineering degree in Spatial Planning from the University of Dortmund.
We want to deepen our focus on the Berlin and Asia startup ecosystems and hence we are initiating community partnerships with ecosystem players in both regions. The idea is to support each other for cross-promotion on various communication channels and generally establish a relationship for long term collaboration so our existing AsiaBerlin community can be of help to our community partners in Asia as well.
