About the event

At AsiaBerlin, we’re building bridges between the startup ecosystems of Berlin and Asia. The Asia Berlin summit of 2021 will join forces to talk about the five major focal areas of UrbanTech, HealthTech, FinTech, industry 4.0, AI, and Blockchain.

In recent times, Berlin has risen to be the gold standard for the European startup ecosystem. With more than 500 startups per year, the city is undisputedly attractive for both potential entrepreneurs and young, qualified job seekers. Particularly in the tech space, Berlin enables a smooth collision between technology and business, fast turning into one of the top tech cities of Europe. On the other hand, in the Asian space, the Indian startup ecosystem has seen explosive growth over the recent years, especially with technology-led startups. India added over 1300 new tech startups in 2019, making the country the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world according to the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. In 2021, amidst a debilitating second wave, India has added 14 new unicorns as against 11 in 2020 and 7 in 2019. With respect to funding, the first half of 2021 comfortably eclipsed (with $10.8 Bn ) the previous historic half-yearly peak of H2 2017, when $7 Bn was raised by Indian startups.
