About this event

Berchain BlockChain Summit, curated and brought by BerChain e.V as a part of AsiaBerlin Summit 2021 is a day-long summit focused on discussions and creating insights on business and tech in blockchain. For our first edition, we are bringing highly curated participants discussing the latest trends in the blockchain space to spark in-depth discussion on blockchain technology as well as cooperation between Asian and Berlin Blockchain Ecosystems. The goal is to promote integration and cooperation between the two ecosystems.

Using smart, distributed ledgers to prove our identities and store our personal data could shift the power of (and profit from) data management from big, established firms back to individuals. Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) are growing at an unprecedented pace around the world. A recent survey revealed that 70% of central banks are currently exploring the use of CBDCs, with the majority in the proof of concept phase.The diverse countries of Asia and Europe are at various stages of CBDC development. The CBDCs in Europe and Asia panel aims to map out where we are headed with CBDCs development, bringing forward challenges and opportunities coming from this technology Key speakers:

In today’s world, it is the responsibility of economic officials to regulate anything associated with value transfer and exchange. DLT’s first applications that are primarily attached to asset tokenization have attracted the EU’s financial regulator’s attention. But after more than 10 years of cryptocurrencies existence, it seems governments are still struggling to pin down fundamental issues such as provision of a precise definition of virtual currencies and tokens in general. This panel aims to frame the current status of regulations: developments and challenges in Asia and EU and an overview of Entrepreneurship Opportunities and challenges: adoption, emerging markets, regulations.    Key speakers : 17.00 17.15 – Break

The COVID-19 pandemic has led, in addition to dramatic health implications for people around the globe, to an almost immediate and profound economic upheaval in many economies. The health and economic crises have governments scrambling for responses to limit the damage and impact on their societies and economies. How is it to invest on DLTs blockchain based projects in Asia and Europe during the time of Covid? What are the implications and challenges Investors encountered? How asian and European flows of investment been influenced?
