On 31 March 2022, we organized a hybrid AsiaBerlin event focused on India and Germany with a deep dive into “Partnerships in Urban Mobility and Fintech: A Berlin-Karnataka Perspective”. The highlight of the event was the MoU signing between the Governments of Karnataka and Berlin to strengthen startup cooperation and innovation between the two states.
Permanent Secretary Michael Biel for the Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe said, “I expect strong impulses for this cooperation from this Declaration and today´s event, as our basis is very sound: We have developed fantastic common projects with reliable partners and a dedicated community within AsiaBerlin. The initiative is driven by two committed States, Berlin and Karnataka, and jointly supported by the Indian Embassy in Berlin and the German General Consulate in Bangalore.”
There were two Panel Discussions on Urban Mobility and FinTech
Urban Mobility
The panel will thoroughly discuss the efforts of achieving sustainable urban mobility from both countries’ perspectives. The output of the discussion is an understanding of overlaps between ideas and technology which could be further advanced together.
FinTech
With FinTech being among the top sectors of mutual interest in India and Germany, the panel will highlight opportunities for cooperation. The cooperation is expected to build a bridge between the fintech industry of both countries.
