Event Description

The global pandemic has sent shockwaves through the startup ecosystem, particularly in areas like gender parity. PitchBook reports that in 2020 the average size of a VC deal for all-women teams stood at $6.8 million; this is almost less than for all-male teams who received on average $18.7 million. As it struggles with the second wave of the pandemic; the situation in India is no different. India’s women entrepreneurs are more vulnerable than ever before. Female-helmed enterprises have experienced a decline of around 66% in sales. Additionally, female businesses have experienced a 24% drop in investments (compared with 2019 levels).

At Female Entrepreneurship in  Berlin and India (FEBI), we aim to support women-led startups from India as they expand to Berlin. We are focused on contributing to their growth in as many ways as possible, including facilitating investment opportunities.

For our upcoming AsiaBerlin event, we will be holding panel discussions with investors and startups. We’ll be hearing from experts on empowering female entrepreneurship – looking at central areas like ecosystem support and investor networks. We’ll be joined by three leading female founders who will tell us about their experiences as entrepreneurs who successfully made the leap into the Berlin market!
