Knut is partner & CEO for global services at Green Steps, a Shanghai-based startup at the intersection of ecology, education and technology. He drives since 2018 the development of a 1-stop platform to accelerate the impact of environmental education across nations and organizations. As a former tech lawyer and corporate executive with two decades of experience at the forefront of China’s rise to global economic leadership, he is interested in providing technological solutions to social problems. He has dedicated the 2nd half of his life to find answers to the pressing question of our era: how to fix the environment? How to reform education? And how to unfold the human potential? Knut was born in 1976 and studied law, psychology and sinology. He first came to China teaching at Qiqihar University and in the city’s SOS Children’s Village. In 2005 he joined The Nature Conservancy in Kunming researching for his Juris Doctorate on the establishment of the 1st Chinese National Park.
