Job Title: Communication Coordinator

Reports to: Managing Director of Asia Berlin Forum e.V

Employment Type: 30h/week employment contract 

Starting date: March 2023 till December 2023; the extension will be sought 

The AsiaBerlin Communication Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote all AsiaBerlin activities, including the AsiaBerlin Summit 2023. This role requires a combination of solid writing skills, strategic thinking, and project management expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communication plans, including public relations, social media, email marketing, and content marketing campaigns for AsiaBerlin.
  • Manage and maintain AsiaBerlin and Asia Berlin Forum e.V. website and social media presence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement communication strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key stakeholders beneficial to the mission of AsiaBerlin.
  • Monitor and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make adjustments as needed.
  • Manage end-to-end communication for AsiaBerlin Summit 2023, including developing and implementing event-specific communication plans, coordinating with event organizers, and overseeing on-site communication efforts.
  • Blog writing, creating relevant content for the AB community, informing about the latest developments and trends


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications role
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English (German is an asset), with experience developing a variety of content types
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful communication campaigns
  • Experience using social media platforms and website management tools
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solution-focused with a “can do” mentality
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience managing communication for conference events is a plus
  • Proficiency in using Canva and WordPress
  • Team player and ability to communicate routine and complex information clearly at all levels
